Project Update

by Amy Feller

Oh the weather outside is frightful but the fire is so delightful. There’s nothing like cozying up to a warm fire in these cold winter months. Feller Contracting remodeled this basement this summer. The home is just down the street from the house we remodeled in Robbinsdale - featured in our November newsletter. The homeowners saw the work we did there and wanted us to help them transform their basement.

Their current space wasn’t utilized to its full potential. It was cold, dark, wet and showed significant signs of settlement. The existing fireplace had sunken in and was out of commission.

Along with extensive foundation repairs, Feller Contracting installed new flooring, electrical, venting, windows and reworked soffits to increase ceiling height and open up the space. This revived over 800 sf of bright open living space.

At the old fireplace location, Dusty built out this custom electric fireplace that can now be enjoyed at the click of a button. Custom electric and gas fireplaces can be added to class up any space and give it that extra cozy feel. There are so many styles to choose from. Contact Feller Contracting today to design and add a custom fireplace to your special space. Let it snow!

Contractor's Corner

by Dusty Feller

As soon as the snow flies, old man Feller is up on the ladder working on exterior illumination. Since I was a little Feller I've been helping my dad decorate their house for the

holidays. Now I carry on the tradition decorating our home. There's a reason Amy calls me Sparky from Thanksgiving until Christmas.

Watching Christmas Vacation inspired this months Contractor's Corner. Clark Griswold literally does everything you shouldn't do on a ladder. If you want to know what not to do, watch Christmas Vacation. For those of you looking to enjoy Christmas dinner without a cast - here's a few ladder safety tips.

Ladder Safety tips:

  • Three points of contact - preferably 2 hands and 1 foot when on extension ladder (Don't be a Grinch)

  • Slide your hands along the side rails of the ladder as you go up and down.

  • Place ladder on flat, stable surface.

  • Don't lean or reach away from the ladder when you are hanging lights and decorations

  • NEVER take a step back to admire your work. Call your significant other out so they can admire it for you!

Holiday Fun

by Amy Feller

What is your favorite Christmas cookie? There are so many to chose from, I don't think I can even pick just one! Since joining the Feller family I was introduced to the Chocolate Krinkle. Its unique soft light chocolate flavor covered in powdered sugar is something I look forward to all year. If you are looking for a new holiday cookie this season, try the chocolate krinkle, a Feller family tradition.
